PRODUCTION STATEMENT
We all come from somewhere, but its not always easy to know where we are going.
In a world full of pressure and complexity, there is however one thing that we all share regardless of our background, and that is the search for meaning. That something that makes our heart beat. For some, this means pushing the limits of their knowledge of the world ever further. This is what Aleksandra Orbeck Nilssen, a young Norwegian woman, decided to do. Accompanied by two Ju/'hoansi bushmen, she crossed Namibia by foot. An idea that would change their life for ever.
The days and reality out there will prove to be tough and brutal, as the trio who decided to walk without ressources is forced to live of the land in the same way San people did at a time when they could move freely all over southern Africa. Aleksandra is the narrator of the walking journey which is written one step at a time, from the Kalahari to the Skeleton coast of Namibia.
Our film is a fable, an enchanting tale about people and their search to discover meaning and a sense of belonging.
